Playing the test build

Updated September 26, 2026. These terms describe the current free Starbound Game playtest.

Test service

The game is under development. Features, balance, availability, and saved progress may change; maintenance or a test reset may interrupt play. Do not rely on this test service for permanent storage.

Accounts and equipment

Use an account you control and keep private test configurations and session credentials private. Game credits and equipment are playtest items, have no cash value, and are not offered for purchase or redemption through this service.

Fair play

Do not exploit bugs, interfere with other players, automate abusive requests, or try to access another player's account or server data. Report reproducible problems to the support address below. Access may be limited to protect the test service.
